KEPCO KDN Achieves Highest Grade in Public Institution Personal Information Protection Management in 2019
[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Chaeseok] KEPCO KDN announced on the 10th that it received the highest grade in the '2019 Public Institution Personal Information Protection Management Level Diagnosis' conducted annually by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety. It was recognized as an institution with a good level of personal information management.
The personal information protection management level diagnosis is conducted to assess personal information management systems and infringement prevention activities, aiming to ensure safe management of personal information and improve management levels.
Last year, the diagnosis targeted 778 public institutions nationwide, including central government ministries and affiliated agencies, metropolitan and basic local governments, and local public enterprises. Among them, only 228 institutions, about 30%, received a 'Good' grade with a score of 90 or above out of 100.
KEPCO KDN explained that to enhance the level of personal information protection, it established an annual personal information protection work process according to relevant laws and regulations to improve work efficiency and continuity.
They also made efforts to strengthen administrative and technical security systems by introducing consulting through external professional organizations, solutions for preventing personal information leakage, and access record management.
As a result of these efforts, KEPCO KDN received perfect scores in 10 out of 12 indicators across 3 areas, being evaluated as excellently managing the personal information protection management system.
