Gwangyang City Launches Full-Scale Development of Integrated Tourism Brand
Young and Innovative Slogan Contest Reflecting Gwangyang Tourism Vision Until the 23rd, Aggressive Promotion Utilization
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Chunsu] Gwangyang City, which is making tourism its core driving force and emerging as a tourist city, announced on the 10th that it will create an integrated tourism brand to spread the image of the tourist city.
To this end, the city plans to hold a contest to select a differentiated and distinctive tourism slogan, finalize a design that reflects the slogan, and actively use it for aggressive promotion of Gwangyang tourism.
The slogan contest, which runs until the 23rd, is open to anyone who loves Gwangyang and shares the vision for the future of Gwangyang tourism, including Gwangyang citizens.
The slogan should embody the vision of Gwangyang tourism and highlight the unique charm of Gwangyang that clearly differentiates it from other local governments. It should also be young and fresh, stimulating emotions, encouraging travel to Gwangyang, and enhancing promotional effectiveness.
Entries can be submitted in any format within about 15 characters, with up to three entries per person, and submissions should be sent via email (miri3824@korea.kr).
The submitted slogans will be strictly evaluated based on symbolism, originality, and completeness, with results announced on the city’s website at the end of January and winners notified individually.
The grand prize winner will receive 500,000 won, two excellence award winners will each receive 300,000 won, and three encouragement award winners will each receive 100,000 won.
All rights related to the adopted slogan will belong to Gwangyang City and will be used in various tourism promotional materials, promotional videos, souvenir production, and overall promotion of Gwangyang tourism.
Lee Hwayeop, Director of the Tourism Division, said, “Last October, Gwangyang City declared the first year of tourism leap, expressing its determination to develop as a tourist city both domestically and internationally. In line with this, we plan to launch full-scale promotion through the development of an integrated tourism brand.”
