Sim Jae-cheol "Moon's Prosecutor Mass Purge Personnel Must Be Immediately Withdrawn... Even Did Not Happen in Jeon Du-hwan Era"
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Ji-eun] Shim Jae-cheol, floor leader of the Liberty Korea Party, recently criticized the prosecution personnel reshuffle as a "prosecution massacre personnel reshuffle," saying, "This did not even happen during the Jeon Du-hwan era."
On the 10th, Shim said at the floor leader's office in the National Assembly, "President Moon Jae-in is filling key positions with people who flatter the power to cover up crimes of family and close associates that may be revealed after his retirement," adding, "This personnel reshuffle will act as President Moon's henchmen along with the Corruption Investigation Office for High-ranking Officials (CIO)."
He called this reshuffle a "prosecution massacre," stating, "It is worse than Jeon Du-hwan. The core of the prosecution has been completely removed by the power. History will record the Moon administration as the worst dictatorship surpassing Jeon Du-hwan's dictatorship."
Regarding Minister of Justice Chu Mi-ae's reaction that "Prosecutor General Yoon Seok-youl disobeyed orders," Shim said, "The Ministry of Justice must consult with the Prosecutor General on prosecution personnel, but now they are accusing Yoon of disobedience," adding, "Prime Minister Lee Nak-yeon is ordering an investigation of Prosecutor General Yoon, and the Democratic Party's chief spokesperson is saying Yoon disobeyed orders to pressure him to resign or create grounds for dismissal."
He continued, "After demoting prosecutors at the chief prosecutor level, a second massacre targeting mid-level executives is also planned," adding, "They intend to erase all traces of criminal investigations against the regime and fill the prosecution with pro-Moon henchmen."
Shim emphasized, "Today, we will strongly condemn the Moon administration in front of the Blue House. The knife given to the prosecution is for the people, not to eliminate criminal investigations of the regime. The prosecution massacre personnel reshuffle must be immediately withdrawn."
Regarding the consent for Prime Minister candidate Chung Sye-kyun's appointment, Shim said, "They say the verification committee's operation and additional hearing period will end today, and they will try to adopt the hearing report. Only if they promise this can the verification committee be formed," criticizing, "The Democratic Party's attitude is arrogant."
He added, "They must unconditionally accept the formation of the verification committee for candidate Chung and immediately submit materials that were not provided during the hearing. If they unilaterally process the appointment consent on the 13th, there will be an outburst of anger demanding the left-wing dictatorship be judged in the general election."
Shim said, "Yesterday, new allegations emerged that candidate Chung not only falsified forest land contracts but also apartment contracts. Verification must come first in the personnel hearing, and adoption of the hearing report comes next," adding, "Despite the suspicions involving the Hwaseong Dongtan housing development not being clarified at all, the Democratic Party is throwing a tantrum to avoid the personnel verification committee on the 13th."

He also announced plans to file complaints against Minister of SMEs and Startups Park Young-sun and former Blue House National Planning Office Chief Yoon Geon-young for violating election laws, saying Park held luncheons with local figures during Christmas and New Year to hand over her constituency, Guro-eul, to Yoon. Shim said, "A current minister with an obligation of election neutrality arranged the position, violating provisions prohibiting public officials' involvement in elections," and urged, "The Election Commission and prosecution must promptly start an investigation."
