[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] The Gyeonggi-do Fire and Disaster Headquarters is preparing and implementing 'fire prevention measures' such as crackdowns on emergency exit closures during the Lunar New Year holiday.
The Gyeonggi Fire Headquarters announced on the 10th that it will conduct fire safety inspections targeting fire-vulnerable facilities such as traditional markets and large distribution centers in the province to minimize property and human damage caused by fires during this year's Lunar New Year holiday.
The main inspection items include ▲confirmation of compliance with defective targets from the special fire safety investigation results ▲unscheduled special fire inspections of multi-use facilities such as traditional markets ▲fire safety information surveys ▲illegal acts such as emergency exit closures ▲strengthening on-site guidance by fire station chiefs for fire-vulnerable targets. In particular, special fire inspections linked to fire safety information surveys, unscheduled crackdowns by theme such as emergency exits, and fire safety checks for small vulnerable buildings will be focused on.
Additionally, the Gyeonggi Fire Headquarters plans to deploy firefighting forces forward to vulnerable areas in accordance with the special alert duty during the Lunar New Year holiday and establish a 24-hour fire prevention monitoring system in fire alert districts such as traditional markets.
A Gyeonggi Fire Headquarters official emphasized, "We will strengthen fire safety inspections and alertness so that residents can safely enjoy the holiday with their families and relatives without fire incidents during the Lunar New Year holiday."
