A Man in His 50s Who Took Tens of Millions of Won Claiming to Secure Jobs at Large Companies Sentenced to 6 Months in Prison
[Asia Economy Kim Sung-yeol, Intern Reporter] A man in his 50s was sentenced to prison for taking money under the pretense of securing a job for someone's son at a large corporation.
The Ulsan District Court, 6th Criminal Division (Presiding Judge Hwang Bo-seung-hyeok), announced on the 9th that A (51), who was indicted on charges of fraud, was sentenced to 6 months in prison.
The court stated the sentencing reasons, saying, "The defendant committed the crime again despite having multiple prior convictions for similar offenses," and "Considering the poor nature of the crime where money was extorted using the bait of a child's employment, and the failure to reach a settlement with the victim, a prison sentence was imposed."
