Songpa-gu Operates Winter Vacation Programs at Youth Facilities
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] The long winter vacation has begun. Parents start worrying about the new school year and new semester, while teenagers grow excited about fun experiences.
Songpa-gu (Mayor Park Seong-su) announced on the 9th that various programs combining learning and experiences will be operated at youth facilities during the winter vacation period.
First, future education that allows experiencing 4th industrial revolution technologies is noteworthy. A total of 8 courses with 26 classes are being held at the Songpa Future Education Center, which opened in October last year.
The district developed its own education model called ‘Songpa SSEM’ last year with the goal of nurturing creative global talents and is running diverse programs.
This winter vacation, programs such as ‘PLAY Coding’, ‘3D with Mom’, ‘VR Experience’, ‘Content Creator’, ‘Announcer Practice’, and ‘Global Debate (English Debate)’ will be conducted. Lectures will continue until February 7.

For elementary students, ‘iSchool’ helps with subject learning such as Korean, Math, and Science experiments, and ‘Happy School’ supports specialized education like orchestra. ▲ Songpa Youth Center offers elementary art, drums, inline skating, and rhythmic gymnastics, while ▲ Jamsil Youth Center provides enjoyable experiences reflecting the latest trends such as climbing, basketball, memory sports, leather crafts, succulent art, and K-POP dance. Programs will continue until the end of February according to each center’s schedule.

Along with this, programs such as ‘Career Mentor Introduction Meetings’ where participants meet professional workers directly, and career lectures will continue throughout January.
