Pro-Iran Iraqi Militias Also Vow "US Will Be Retaliated"
[Asia Economy Reporter Cho Hyun-ui] The pro-Iranian Iraqi militia also reportedly declared retaliation against the United States on the 8th (local time).
According to major foreign media, Qais al-Khazali, leader of Asa'ib Ahl al-Haq (AAH), a Shiite militia in Iraq, said on the day, "There has been Iran's first response to the assassination of Martyr Soleimani," adding, "Now it is time for the first response to the assassination of Martyr al-Muhandis."
Al-Khazali's remarks referred to the U.S. drone strike on the 3rd in Baghdad, Iraq, which eliminated Qassem Soleimani, commander of the Quds Force (an elite unit of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps), and Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, deputy commander of the Iraqi Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF). The AAH, led by al-Khazali, is an organization under the PMF.
