Gwangjin-gu Expands Customized Care Services for Seniors
Gwangjin-gu Integrates Existing 3 Elderly Care Services into 'Customized Elderly Care Service' Operation
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Gwangjin-gu (District Mayor Kim Seon-gap) is expanding the existing elderly care service project to a ‘Customized Elderly Care Service’ for seniors in need of care.
The Customized Elderly Care Service was established to eliminate blind spots in care within the community, strengthen community care functions, flexibly respond to the needs of seniors aged 65 and older, and provide services by district.
Since January, the district has integrated three existing projects?the Basic Elderly Care Service, the Comprehensive Elderly Care Service, and the Short-term Housekeeping Service?into the Customized Elderly Care Service.
Additionally, the district has combined welfare checks and daily support tasks to provide tailored services according to seniors’ needs, including daily life support, safety checks, social participation, life education, and linkage to welfare services.
Last year, considering the elderly population and accessibility within the district, the area was divided into two zones, and ‘Neulpureum Care Center’ and ‘Gwangjin Senior Welfare Center’ were selected as project implementation agencies.
Furthermore, to ensure stable project establishment, dedicated social workers and life support staff have been hired to fully promote the Customized Elderly Care Service project.
Existing beneficiaries of the elderly care service project can receive services without a separate application, while new applicants will be recruited from March this year at each neighborhood community center and provided with services.
