Busan Coast Guard Issues 'Warning' for Coastal Safety Accidents
Strong Wind and High Wave Warnings Issued for All Seas off Busan and Namhae on the 7th
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Yoon Yoseop] Busan Maritime Police Station announced on the 7th at 6 PM that due to the issuance of strong wind and high seas advisories for the entire sea area of Busan and Namhae, it has issued a ‘Coastal Safety Accident Risk Forecast (Advisory)’ for the Busan area until midnight on the 9th to prevent safety accidents in coastal waters.
An ‘Advisory’ is issued when there is a high risk of safety accidents due to worsening weather conditions or when accidents are occurring and there is concern about the spread of damage. If safety accidents continue to spread despite the advisory, a ‘Warning’ will be issued repeatedly informing about the damage situation, outlook, and prevention guidelines.
In line with the advisory issuance, Busan Maritime Police strengthened safety accident prevention measures including ▲enhanced coastal patrols at each port and harbor ▲safety guidance for visitors (fishing and tourism) at rocky shores and breakwaters ▲relocation of vehicles parked in low-lying coastal areas ▲installation of safety tape to prevent access to dangerous areas in coastal waters.
In cooperation with local governments, safety guidance broadcasts using electronic signboards and broadcasting systems will also be continuously conducted during the risk forecast period.
