On the 7th, Mokpo City announced that on the 3rd, a civil petitioner who frequently uses the Wonsan-dong Administrative Welfare Center delivered a donation of 1 million won, asking for help for low-income elderly people who collect waste paper.
The anonymous donation angel left a letter saying that although it is difficult to fully understand the hardships of elderly people living alone, they quietly wish for a warm world where those people can feel comfortable living, and hope that even a small warmth like a bowl of rice cake soup can be delivered to the elderly living alone in the cold weather.
The donation delivered by the petitioner was distributed to five low-income elderly households who make a living by collecting waste paper (200,000 won each), according to the donor's wishes.
An elderly recipient of the donation expressed gratitude, saying, "It was difficult to make a living collecting waste paper in the cold weather, but I received this unexpected gift. With the donation received, I can spend a warm winter," and added, "Starting the new year like this makes me think I should live healthier and work harder this year."
