[CES2020] Samsung Unveils 'Artificial Human' Project... Capable of Expressing Emotions Independently
The appearance of the artificial human 'Neon' revealed on June 6 by Pranav Mistry, CEO of Star Labs, a research institute under Samsung Electronics Research America (SRA), on his Twitter.

According to industry sources, Pranav Mistry, CEO of Neon, introduced on his Twitter account that he will announce 'CORE R3,' the software used in Neon.
Neon, while applying for a patent in the U.S., described 'CORE R3' as "software that can create, edit, and control virtual characters usable in movies, TV, internet platforms, and more."
CORE R3 was named after the first letters of the three main features: reality, realtime, and responsive. Neon defined CORE R3 as computer-generated imagery that can be utilized in movies, games, AR services, simulations, and more.
CEO Mistry revealed photos of Neon's characters created with CORE R3 on Twitter, stating, "They can independently generate new emotional expressions, movements, and conversations."

CEO Mistry, a graduate of MIT Media Lab, set the record as Samsung Electronics' youngest executive director at age 36 when he was promoted to executive director of Samsung Research America (SRA) in June 2017.
