At the event, Choi Jaeho, Chairman of the Muhak Group, stated, "I would like to express my gratitude to the customers who have consistently supported Muhak throughout its 90-year history. We will grow into a global liquor company representing South Korea, practicing the love we have received from consumers and becoming a company that prioritizes customer satisfaction above all."
To give back to the local community that has supported Muhak, 900 bags of 10kg rice were donated to Changwon City during the event.
Muhak began using its name after Honorary Chairman Choi Wi-seung acquired a liquor manufacturing company producing soju and cheongju in 1965 and renamed it Muhak Brewery. In 1973, it consolidated and absorbed 36 soju manufacturers in Gyeongnam and established a corporation. In 1995, it launched the first soju product branded with the company name domestically.
Notably, in 2006, considering the increase in female consumers and changes in drinking culture, Muhak introduced 'Joeun Day,' a mild soju with 16.9% alcohol content, leading the domestic soju market trend. Additionally, it released products such as the medicinal liquor 'Jinjja Masinneun Gukhwa,' plum wine 'Maesil Maeul,' distilled liquor 'Joeun Day Calamansi,' and liqueur 'Joeun Day Color Series.'
The 'Joeun Day Nanum Foundation,' established in 1985 as a 100% subsidiary of Muhak, supports local students to continue their studies despite difficult circumstances.
A Muhak representative said, “We must not forget the past days of growing together with the local community. To leap into a centennial company, we must prioritize customer satisfaction and foster a corporate culture that fulfills economic and ethical responsibilities,” adding, “We will donate 15% of our operating profit to social contribution activities.”
