Nicole Kidman Couple Donates Over 500 Million Won for Australian Wildfire Recovery
[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Heo Midam] Hollywood actress Nicole Kidman (52) from Australia and her husband, singer Keith Urban (52), donated over 500 million won to help extinguish Australian wildfires and aid in recovery efforts.
On the 5th (local time), the US media outlet TMZ reported, "The Kidman couple decided to support their homeland's firefighting authorities battling the catastrophic wildfires."
According to the report, the Kidman couple donated $500,000 (approximately 583.75 million won) to assist the regional fire departments overseeing the Australian wildfire suppression.
The media added, "Although Nicole and Keith's home in Australia was not directly damaged, it was reportedly threatened by the wildfires."
Kidman was born to Australian parents. Born in Honolulu, USA, she moved to Australia during her childhood and currently holds dual citizenship in Australia and the United States.
Urban, born in New Zealand, is a singer-songwriter and record producer who primarily worked in Australia before moving to the United States.
Meanwhile, 146 wildfires ignited simultaneously across Australia, destroying over 1,500 homes and causing 24 fatalities.
