Seoul Donhwamun Gugakdang 'Music That Enriches Your Fate'... Sorikkun Lee Heemun Hosts
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Byung-hee] Seoul Donhwamun Gugakdang will hold four performances of the participatory concert "Music That Saves Your Fate" Season 2 on January 10-11 and 17-18 to welcome the New Year.
"Music That Saves Your Fate" was first introduced last year, featuring customized traditional music that emphasized viewers' saju palja (Four Pillars of Destiny) interpretations and the five elements (Wood, Fire, Metal, Water, Earth).
This performance will be a unique concert combining Korean music that uplifts the bright energy of the Year of the Rat with New Year's fortune-telling.
The host of the 2020 "Music That Saves Your Fate" is Gyeonggi minyo singer Lee Hee-moon. Lee Hee-moon made a strong impression as the music curator "Obangshin" on the KBS TV program "Dool Ain Obanganda" and gained attention as the first Korean musician to appear on the U.S. public radio (NPR) music program "Tiny Desk Concerts." In this performance, Lee Hee-moon will not only host but also perform folk songs that excite the audience.
The New Year's fortune-telling will be conducted by former EBS producer Jang Do-hoon, who has studied Myeongrihak (Korean fortune-telling) for over 30 years and produced programs such as "Myeongui" and "EBS Invitation." The performance will be handled by "Eumakdongin Gomul," a group that crosses between creative and traditional music.
