Myeongjin Kim to Hold 'Luxury Seogu True Worker' Book Launch on the 11th
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] Kim Myung-jin, a preliminary candidate for the National Assembly member of Seo-gu Gap, Gwangju Metropolitan City, will hold a book launch event for "Premium Seo-gu, Real Worker Kim Myung-jin" on the 2nd floor of the Kim Dae-jung Convention Center from 2 p.m. on the 11th.
Kim's book, "Premium Seo-gu, Real Worker Kim Myung-jin," introduces the daily life he spent almost every day with local residents for nearly 570 days since the June 13, 2018 Seo-gu Gap National Assembly by-election, and narrates the author's personal history from childhood to the present.
With the subtitle "National Assembly Expert, Worker of Gwangju," "Premium Seo-gu, Real Worker Kim Myung-jin" shows the process and achievements that allowed the author to build an unprecedented career in South Korean party politics, including serving six times as an administrative officer at the Blue House during the Kim Dae-jung administration and as chief secretary to party leaders and floor leaders of both ruling and opposition parties.
The book also offers behind-the-scenes stories related to the enactment process of major laws that legally supported Gwangju's development, such as the "Special Act on the Creation of the Asia Culture Centered City," the "Support Act for the Gwangju World Swimming Championships," and the "Special Act on the Relocation of Military Airports," where Kim played a significant role as a worker for Gwangju.
The book launch event will be attended by local elders such as Kim Jun-ho, Senior Vice Chairman of the Gwangju Branch of the Korean Senior Citizens Association and Chairman of the Seo-gu Senior Citizens Association, and Ahn Jae-poong, former Chairman of the Senior Citizens Committee of the People's Party Gwangju City Party, along with traditional market merchants, Seo-gu residents, and representatives of professional and social organizations.
