Korean Federation of Trade Unions Chairman Election: Kim Man-jae vs. Kim Dong-myeong Showdown
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Min-young] Two candidates, Kim Man-jae, Chairman of the Metal Workers' Union, and Kim Dong-myeong, Chairman of the Chemical Workers' Union, have thrown their hats into the ring for the next chairman election of the Federation of Korean Trade Unions (FKTU).
According to the FKTU on the 3rd, the deadline for registering candidates for the 27th chairman and secretary-general election, two pairs registered as chairman-secretary-general candidates: Kim Man-jae (Metal Workers' Union Chairman) - Heo Kwon (Finance Union Chairman), and Kim Dong-myeong (Chemical Workers' Union Chairman) - Lee Dong-ho (Post Union Chairman).
The candidates will hold joint speeches while touring 16 regions nationwide from June 6, starting with the Gwangju-Jeonnam area, until the 17th.

The next chairman and secretary-general will be elected through an indirect election at the electoral assembly held on the 21st at Jamsil Gymnasium in Seoul. The FKTU chairman's term is three years.
