Gwangju Election Commission Files Charges Against Former City Council Member for Embezzling Aide's Salary
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] The Gwangju Metropolitan City Election Commission announced on the 2nd that it has reported former Gwangju Metropolitan City Council member Na Hyun to the Gwangju District Prosecutors' Office on charges of violating the Political Funds Act.
Former Council member Na is suspected of having someone else pay 8.8 million won in common council expenses that he was supposed to bear himself from February 2018 to October last year.
Article 45 of the Political Funds Act stipulates that anyone who donates or receives political funds by methods not prescribed in the Political Funds Act shall be punished by imprisonment for up to five years or a fine of up to 10 million won.
