Gijang-gun Mental Health Welfare Center Selected as an Excellent Institution for Suicide Prevention Support Project

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Yoon Yoseop] On the 3rd, the Gijang-gun Mental Health Welfare Center announced that it was selected as an excellent institution by receiving the Minister of Health and Welfare Commendation in the 2019 Carbon Monoxide Poisoning Suicide Prevention Support Project.
The Carbon Monoxide Poisoning Suicide Prevention Support Project aims to contribute to reducing the suicide rate caused by carbon monoxide poisoning by establishing a network with local institutions such as charcoal briquette sales stores and lodging facilities. This evaluation was conducted on all institutions nationwide participating in the carbon monoxide poisoning suicide prevention support project, and the Gijang-gun Mental Health Welfare Center received excellent evaluations in various areas.
Since last year, the Gijang-gun Public Health Center has been supporting the operation of the Gijang-gun Mental Health Welfare Center in cooperation with the Department of Psychiatry at Haeundae Paik Hospital. It won the grand prize in the Busan City Suicide Prevention Project evaluation last year and is working hard to prevent suicide among the residents of Gijang-gun.
