Silicon Mites Unveils Latest Audio Solutions at CES 2020
[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunseok Yoo] Silicon Mitus, a company specializing in power management and audio semiconductor chips, announced on the 3rd that it will showcase its latest audio product lineup at ‘CES 2020’ held in Las Vegas, USA, from the 7th to the 10th.
Participating in CES for the third consecutive year, Silicon Mitus will strengthen the competitiveness of its audio division by presenting display sound technology suitable for the bezeless, notchless, and portless trends.
At CES 2020, the company plans to exhibit and demonstrate audio solutions optimized for the ‘3-LESS’ products, including ▲ display sound devices for smartphones, tablets, laptops, and monitors ▲ SmartPA (audio amplifier for mobile phones) ▲ Hi-Fi DAC ▲ speaker amplifiers for smart speakers and soundbars.
In particular, display sound is a core technology necessary to realize bezeless designs. According to the company, it eliminates the earpiece receiver and speaker previously exposed on the exterior of smartphones, thereby increasing the screen-to-body ratio relative to the smartphone size and enhancing design versatility.
The SMA6201, scheduled for demonstration on-site, is a piezo speaker driver optimized for display sound that can be applied to smartphones, tablets, laptops, and computers. It produces sound on the display by generating fine vibrations on the panel.
Additionally, Silicon Mitus will exhibit the SMA1303, a digital boost amplifier (AMP) for smartphones capable of outputting 2.6W, and the SMA1304, which uses a speaker protection algorithm to perfectly protect speakers from overheating and excessive output.
Hwangsoo Son, Executive Director of Silicon Mitus Audio Division, stated, “This exhibition will be an important opportunity to showcase our audio product technology to the global market. We plan to explore opportunities for global market entry and expand business channels through close business relationship building.”
