Jeonggwan Museum Operates 'Our Family Museum Outing' Program
Held every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from the 7th to the 16th for families with children
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters reporters Yoon Yoseop and Yang Heejeong] Busan City Jeonggwan Museum will operate a family program called ‘Our Family Museum Outing’ every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday for two weeks from the 7th to the 16th during the winter vacation.
According to Busan City on the 3rd, this education consists of two programs: ‘Sodubang Architecture King’ for families with children aged 6 to 7, and ‘Happy Year of the Rat’ for families with children in grades 1 to 3 of elementary school.
The preschool program ‘Sodubang Architecture King’ will be held six times in total at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. from the 7th to the 9th. Participants can explore the newly arranged house-shaped pottery exhibition space and the restored Three Kingdoms period dwelling to learn about the differences between modern and ancient houses, and experience crafting by making a Three Kingdoms period house using various materials.
The program for lower elementary students, ‘Happy Year of the Rat,’ will be held twice a day at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. from the 14th to the 16th. In celebration of the Year of the White Rat in the Gyeongja year, participants will learn about the twelve zodiac animals and the meaning of the rat sign, and create a white rat figurine using a 3D pen to decorate a terrarium with natural moss, soil, and stones.
Applications for ‘Happy Year of the Rat’ can be made on the Jeonggwan Museum website from 9 a.m. on the 6th until the 9th. Applications are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis, with up to 15 participants per session.

Seong Hyunju, director of Jeonggwan Museum, said, “Families visiting the museum with their children will be able to increase their interest and understanding of cultural heritage through unique experiential learning using 3D pens and viewing the renovated exhibition rooms,” and added, “We hope many citizens with young children will participate.”
