15,000 Entrepreneurs Using 50 Branches... 'Startup Academy' Cafe24
Women's Clothing>Fashion Accessories>Household Goods, The Greatest Strength of One-Stop Service for Startups
[Asia Economy Reporter Kiho Sung] Since its debut in 2011, the Cafe24 Startup Center has solidified its position as a training ground for launching online shopping malls. A 'one-stop service' for startups is being provided, and with the popularization of the 'shared office' concept, the enthusiasm for the Cafe24 Startup Center is expected to grow even stronger.
According to the distribution industry on the 2nd, Cafe24 recently opened the Suji District Office branch Startup Center, bringing the total number of Startup Centers to 50, including 25 locations in Seoul, 13 in Gyeonggi, 3 in Incheon, 3 in Chungcheong, 4 in Yeongnam, and 2 in Honam. The Cafe24 Startup Center, which launched its first branch in 2011, surpassed 10 branches in 2013, 20 branches in 2017, and 30 branches in 2018, showing rapid growth recently.
The number of entrepreneurs who have used the Startup Centers since their opening has reached 15,596. Additionally, from 2013 to July 2019, there were 5,107 tentative e-commerce business operators among the tenants. The most common business item among entrepreneurs was women's clothing (32%). Following that, fashion accessories (13%) and daily necessities (11%) were also categorized as popular sectors.
The greatest advantage of the Cafe24 Startup Center is that all processes from startup to operation are conducted through a one-stop service. It is evaluated that everything needed for startup, including education and facilities, is prepared. Park Inkyun, CEO of Dodolady, who resides at the Gasan Digital Center branch, said, "After deciding to move into the Startup Center, the only thing I needed for startup was a personal PC," adding, "Everything, including the studio and office equipment, is fully equipped."
He explained, "When I first started a business after working at a company, the Startup Center helped me overcome the difficulties I faced," and added, "Especially, the education courses necessary for startups are systematized, and through one-on-one consulting, I was able to receive help with marketing, taxation, and legal matters, which are difficult for individual business owners to handle."
