Gyeongnam Governor Kim Kyung-soo Begins New Year Work with New Year's Shrine Visit

View original image[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Ju Cheol-in] Kim Kyung-soo, Governor of Gyeongnam Province, began the new year of 2020, the Year of the Rat, by paying respects to the patriotic martyrs and war heroes.
On the morning of the 1st, Governor Kim, along with Park Seong-ho, Deputy Governor for Administration, Moon Seung-wook, Deputy Governor for Economy, and Kim Ji-soo, Chairman of the Provincial Council, visited the National 3·15 Democratic Cemetery and Changwon Chung-hon Tower in succession to pay tribute and reaffirm their commitment to the new year's provincial administration.
First, at the National 3·15 Democratic Cemetery, Governor Kim met with bereaved families of the victims, including Kim Jang-hee, President of the 3·15 Uprising Memorial Association, Kim Nam-young, Head of the Gyeongnam Branch of the April 19 Democratic Revolution Association, and Oh Mu-seon, Head of the Gyeongnam Branch of the April 19 Revolution Victims' Bereaved Families Association, offering condolences and New Year greetings.
After laying flowers and incense, Governor Kim wrote in the guestbook, "On the new morning of the new year marking the 60th anniversary of the 3·15 Uprising. We will nurture the seeds of democracy you sowed into a completely new Gyeongnam and a just Republic of Korea!"

View original imageNext, the group visited the Changwon Chung-hon Tower, where they observed a moment of silence for the war heroes and prayed for the safety and well-being of Gyeongnam and its residents in the new year.
After the tribute, Governor Kim left a message in the Chung-hon Tower guestbook: "A country protected by sacrifice and dedication, a prosperous Republic of Korea for all, we will make it blossom into a world where people live together!" Governor Kim concluded the morning schedule by encouraging the staff at the Chung-hon Tower.
Addressing the attendees with New Year’s wishes, Governor Kim said, "In the new year, let us continue innovation and growth and create changes that the residents can feel together," and urged, "Please take meticulous care so that the provincial office family can work joyfully and meaningfully."
