Shilla Hotel Launches Bold Collaboration with the Icon of Rebellion and Defiance, Vivienne Westwood


"I design clothes to break the system."


This is a famous quote by British fashion designer Vivienne Westwood. She is the founder of the global luxury brand Vivienne Westwood. During her lifetime, Vivienne Westwood was regarded as a symbol of "rebellion," "defiance," and "challenge," thanks to her bold and original designs. Recently, as the MZ generation (Millennials + Generation Z) has come to value individuality and "one's own style," the brand has been rising in popularity.


The prestigious luxury hotel, The Shilla Seoul, has embarked on a groundbreaking collaboration with Vivienne Westwood. The hotel has launched the "Planet Vivienne Westwood" package, which allows guests to view at a glance art pieces such as jewelry, bags, and accessories owned by Vivienne Westwood in the exclusive "Executive Lounge," and to enjoy afternoon tea. This is the first time that Shilla Hotel has held an exhibition in its lounge in partnership with a fashion brand.



First Exhibition of Fashion Brand Collection at the 23rd Floor Executive Lounge

The Executive Lounge, recently visited and now infused with Vivienne Westwood's spirit, felt more harmonious than out of place. Located on the 23rd floor of The Shilla Seoul, the Executive Lounge was originally designed with the motif of a "successful CEO's library." With books and ceramics reflecting Eastern aesthetics placed throughout, the space was created to offer complete relaxation.

This time, instead of ceramics and numerous books, a glass showcase containing Vivienne Westwood products was placed in the middle of the bookshelf. It looked as if a CEO had collected rare treasures in their personal library. The showcase features Vivienne Westwood's logo?a planet with a crown?adding a luxurious touch.


Vivienne Westwood arranged the products according to four themes: Heart Motif, MacHaze Tartan, Tartan, and Patent Leather. To enhance the exhibition feel, all price tags were removed, and instead of selling the items, discount vouchers were provided to customers who purchased the package. In particular, models decorated with Vivienne Westwood's signature check pattern were placed throughout the space to maintain harmony. For this collaboration, Vivienne Westwood introduced a new yellow check pattern design inspired by the brand's classic checks.

All Price Tags Removed, Discount Vouchers for Package Guests... Debut of Yellow Check Pattern

The most eye-catching area is the jewelry section. Placed near the entrance, the jewelry section immediately drew the attention of lounge guests. Among luxury fashion brands, Vivienne Westwood boasts exceptionally high jewelry sales. In particular, the necklace combining pearls and the Vivienne Westwood logo is popular, as it has been worn by global celebrities such as Lisa of Blackpink, G-Dragon, and Dua Lipa. At this exhibition, visitors could preview rare jewelry pieces that are difficult to find on the market, as well as new items for the upcoming fall and winter seasons.


Another highlight is the afternoon tea set. The afternoon tea set includes eight desserts such as macarons, scones, sandwiches, apple mango yogurt jelly, and mille-feuille. Inspired by the yellow check pattern, Shilla Hotel dessert chefs personally developed these desserts using seasonal ingredients. The mango macaron is embossed with 'VW,' and the tea coaster features the Vivienne Westwood logo.

Afternoon Tea, Chateau, Voucher, and Pool Access Package Available Until August 31

Guests could enjoy a leisurely afternoon tea while taking in panoramic views of Seoul. A Shilla Hotel representative explained, "It's very popular because guests can enjoy it with their children," and added, "The space is not just filled with books, but also offers things to see, which is receiving positive feedback for being new and refreshing."


Shilla Hotel will offer the Vivienne Westwood package for two months, until August 31. The package includes afternoon tea and lounge access, as well as Vivienne Westwood membership at the Platinum tier. Additionally, it comes with one bottle of Chateau Pegau Rose Pink Pegau, a 50,000 won Vivienne Westwood voucher, and an all-day pass to Urban Island (the swimming pool).
