Naver has released a list of the top 100 'bingsu hotspots' nationwide that have been saved the most by users on its map service.

According to industry sources on June 21, Naver Map recently published a list of 'most saved bingsu hotspots.' This list compiles the top 100 bingsu places that, as of this month, have been saved as favorite locations by the largest number of Naver Map users, and presents them as a 'saved list.'

The bingsu hotspot most frequently saved by users ranked number one is Sungsimdang in Daejeon. Sungsimdang has received high praise for offering high-quality bingsu that rivals even hotel bingsu priced in the 100,000 won range. Ranked second is the cafe 'Redpipe' in Paju, Gyeonggi Province. Another leading local bakery, Leesungdang in Gunsan, Jeonbuk, took third place. The rest of the top ten are as follows: fourth is Cafe Daenerys (Namyangju, Gyeonggi), fifth is La Fraise Flute Seongsu (Seoul), sixth is Cafe Marche (Gyeongju, Gyeongbuk), seventh is 10593 Bagel Coffee House (Suwon, Gyeonggi), eighth is Gonggan Gap (Seoul), ninth is Toujouru Bread Dolgamamaeul (Cheonan, Chungnam), and tenth is Heuksadang (Paju, Gyeonggi).

Last year, Naver Map also received a positive response by curating a list of restaurants run by chefs from the Netflix hit 'Black and White Chef' in the same way as its bingsu hotspot list. A Naver representative said, "Map users are very active in creating and sharing their own saved lists in various ways," and added, "When people share these lists, the recipients also start using Naver Map, so the lock-in effect is significant."

Meanwhile, Naver is introducing a new 'Discovery' tab to its map app. 'Discovery' is a service that provides information about popular places not only near the user but also nationwide.

The 'Discovery' tab, located at the first position on the lower left of the Naver Map app, introduces a variety of places based on user location and interests in themed sections such as: ▲Popular places right now ▲Recommended spots based on my activity ▲Popular saved lists ▲Instant benefits available nearby ▲Nationwide hot places.

Naver measured popularity using various data to implement this feature. While the existing 'Nearby' tab only recommended restaurants near the user, the 'Discovery' tab offers a broader range of popular place information, including restaurants, cultural venues, and local attractions both nearby and nationwide. In addition, if places like Bukchon, Gangneung, Busan, or Jeju become trending among users, they are introduced in a 'special regional recommendation section.' Regarding 'Discovery,' Naver explained, "It is an upgraded version of the existing 'Nearby' tab," and added, "It provides information on trending places at the time the user checks the app."
