The golf culture in Korea is gradually changing. It is shifting from being a personal hobby to becoming a family leisure activity. Golf is no longer just a sport for golfers; it is now something to enjoy with family. Because of this change, simply having a good golf course is not enough to be the best. The field must offer good food and attractions as well. Here, we introduce the 'Field 3GO' golf courses, perfect for spending happy times through golf. This time, we present Ildong Lake Golf Club, located in Ildong-myeon, Pocheon-si, Gyeonggi-do.

Ildong Lake Golf Club is a prestigious golf course that opened in 1995. It features 27 holes on 1,587,849 square meters (about 480,000 pyeong). There are 18 holes for members (par 72, 7,209 yards) and 9 public holes (par 36, 3,538 yards). The club is known for its thorough member management, operations, and excellent course maintenance. It focuses on low-emission turf management to minimize environmental pollution and conducts research on grass clippings disposal technology for environmental conservation. The club has independently developed an eco-friendly turf management system.

This is a true tournament course that has hosted major events. Since hosting the Samsung World Championship, an LPGA Tour event, in 1996, it has continued to hold domestic pro qualifiers and both men's and women's tournaments, including the Asian Tour. Each course offers a completely different thrill and charm. The green speed is maintained at 2.8 meters (9.18 feet).

The member course consists of the Mountain Course and Hill Course. From the entrance to the club to the course itself, there are no artificial obstacles. Over 4,000 pine trees, ponds holding more than 120,000 tons of water, and natural rock cliffs are spread out like a folding screen. The harmony between the mounds and the course is impressive. Adjacent holes are not visible, ensuring independence between holes. The Mountain Course gives a masculine impression, while the Hill Course feels more feminine.

There is a driving range. It is designed to provide a clear view so you can accurately see where your ball lands. Considering the importance of the short game, greens are set at 40m, 90m, 145m, and 205m. Instead of using artificial nets, natural mounds are used.

The clubhouse covers 6,942 square meters (about 2,100 pyeong). The pleasant environment and open space are impressive. It is designed so you can view the golf course while relaxing. The club operates the facility directly. Food and high-quality service comparable to a hotel are provided. Group events for 20 to 160 people are possible. The main restaurant uses fresh organic ingredients. You can enjoy meals that are not only delicious but also healthy. Outdoor parties are also available.

Ildong Gukbap is a popular menu item, made with Korean beef. There are also shrimp arugula pizza and crispy batter dishes. Hot pot dishes with mushrooms and beef tripe are also popular choices. Course A (salmon salad and traditional roast chicken, beef tenderloin sweet and sour, black pork kimchi stew) and Course B (tiger cheese shrimp salad, abalone & flatfish sashimi, asparagus beef stir-fry, freshwater eel rice bowl) are prepared by a top chef. At the starter house, you can enjoy perilla seed buckwheat noodles, boneless spicy chicken, stir-fried webfoot octopus and pork skin, and smoked duck with jellyfish salad.

At Ildong Lake Golf Club, you can enjoy a luxurious hot spring bath. Hot spring water is drawn from 800 meters underground and supplied to the baths. The water contains more than 20 types of minerals, including sodium, calcium, silica, fluoride, and iron, in addition to lithium. After showering, you can feel your skin becoming smoother. There is also a Finnish-style sauna to refresh yourself after a round.

In Idong-myeon, Pocheon-si, there is Baegun Valley. It is a valley formed by clear, clean water flowing west from the peaks of Gwangdeoksan and Baegunsan. The valley is 10 kilometers long. The rocks most commonly observed in Baegun Valley are Jurassic granite from the Mesozoic era. Due to tectonic movements, you can see various geological structures, including faults. In the upper reaches of Baegun Valley, vertical and horizontal joints are well developed. Ponds and strangely shaped rocks blend together to create beautiful scenery. The road from Baegun Valley to Gwangdeok Pass is also popular as a driving course due to the beautiful surrounding landscapes. In winter, the 'Pocheon Baegun Valley General Winter Festival' is held. Children can enjoy a variety of winter activities such as the Snow Hill Rabbit Chasing Ground, tube sledding, spinning sleds, trout and smelt fishing, and top spinning.

A visit to Pocheon is not complete without experiencing the hot springs. Ildong Jeil Sulfur Hot Spring, which opened in 1996, is located at the entrance of the Ildong Hot Spring District in Pocheon-si. It uses sulfur hot spring water drawn from 800 meters underground. The water is rich in sulfur. It is known to be effective for rheumatism, adult diseases, diabetes, high blood pressure, neuralgia, gynecological diseases, arthritis, and various skin conditions. Facilities include outdoor baths, a Korean dry sauna, hot spring swimming pool, waterfall bath, and sauna.
