Samsung Securities Launches 'Omnibus Account' Service in Partnership with IBKR
On May 12, Samsung Securities announced that it will officially launch the 'Omnibus Account' service in partnership with Interactive Brokers (IBKR), a major global online brokerage. This service aims to enhance the convenience of foreign investors trading Korean stocks.
The Omnibus Account is a system that allows overseas investors to trade Korean stocks through their local brokerage firms, eliminating the hassle of opening an account directly with a Korean securities company. Samsung Securities has proactively prepared to introduce this service in line with the government's policy direction of promoting the inflow of foreign capital into the domestic market through Omnibus Accounts.
IBKR, the collaborative partner, is a U.S. Nasdaq-listed company providing financial services in over 170 international markets. Since 2023, Samsung Securities has been in continuous discussions with IBKR regarding cooperation on domestic stock investment. After the service was designated as an 'innovative financial service' by the Financial Services Commission in September 2025, preparations for the full-scale launch, including system development, began. Based on this, IBKR has officially opened the service this month.
