Because Jang's statements lack detail, the police plan to clarify the circumstances of the case through interviews with profilers and forensics on his mobile phone.
Earlier that day, at approximately 12:11 a.m., Jang allegedly stabbed and killed second-year high school student A (female, 17) with a weapon on a pedestrian path near a university in Wolgye-dong, Gwangsan-gu, Gwangju, and attacked student B (male, 17) with a weapon as well. At the time of the crime, Jang reportedly chased after A and attacked her with a weapon, and then wielded the weapon at B, who approached the scene, before fleeing in a vehicle.
