Seo District Launches Full-Scale Transition to an AI-Integrated City with a Customized Operational Model
Seo District in Gwangju Metropolitan City is accelerating its transition to the era of AI in everyday life. By newly operating AI Digital Learning Centers that combine education and hands-on experiences, the district is introducing a customized model where residents can learn and experience artificial intelligence (AI) as part of their daily lives.
The AI Digital Learning Center is a nationwide digital competency enhancement program promoted by the Ministry of Science and ICT and the National Information Society Agency (NIA). Gwangju City is currently operating four educational hubs. In particular, Seo District is showcasing its unique operational model by utilizing easily accessible locations such as the district office building, combining educational and experiential functions for residents.

Gwangju Seo-gu announced that it is actively promoting custom AI digital education for residents by operating AI Digital Learning Centers on the first floor of the Seoroi-eum Social Value Support Center in Nongsong-dong and on the first floor of the district office building, allowing residents to learn and experience artificial intelligence (AI) in their daily lives.

Seo District plans to accelerate its transformation into an AI-centered city by establishing a foundation that enables any resident to access AI and digital technologies in their daily routines.
The curriculum ranges widely, from basic life-oriented courses such as smartphone fundamentals, kiosk usage, and mobile financial services, to practical advanced courses on generative AI utilization, digital content creation, online communication, and AI-powered work applications.
