Korea Zinc was recognized as an award recipient for its eco-friendly smelting technology and its competitiveness in resource circulation-based business. The company recovers valuable metals from waste resources such as electronic waste (E-Waste) to produce products based on "100% recycled raw materials." Its copper and silver products have also received 100% recycled material production certification from global certification bodies.
Additionally, Korea Zinc has secured Product Carbon Footprint (PCF) certifications for major products such as zinc, lead, gold, silver, and copper, and is operating Clean Slag technology, which recycles smelting by-products as industrial aggregate.
Korea Zinc is also expanding its "Troika Drive" strategy, focusing on its subsidiaries in Australia and the United States to promote renewable energy, green hydrogen, and resource circulation businesses.
Social contribution activities were also cited as a reason for the award. Korea Zinc continues to support vulnerable groups in local communities, including the elderly, children, people with developmental disabilities, and single-parent families, through social contribution activities amounting to about 8 billion won annually.
