FKI to Hold Seminar on Labor Market Reform Direction on the 19th
The Federation of Korean Industries (hereinafter referred to as FKI) will hold a seminar titled "Labor Market Reform Direction for Enhancing Employment Flexibility and Expanding the Employment Safety Net" at the FKI Tower Conference Center on May 19 at 2:00 p.m.
This seminar has been organized to explore sustainable labor market reform directions that balance productivity improvement and job security for workers. It aims to increase labor market flexibility in response to rapidly changing industrial and technological environments, while also strengthening the employment safety net that supports workers’ job transitions and reemployment.
First, Professor Yoon Dong-Yeol of Konkuk University will give a presentation on "Measures to Enhance Employment Flexibility in Response to Productivity Improvement and Changes in the Business Environment." This will be followed by Senior Research Fellow Kim Gyupan of the Korea Institute for International Economic Policy (KIEP), who will discuss "Tasks for Improving Korea's Employment Safety Net: Lessons from Japan's Case." Lastly, Professor Kim Wonki of Sungshin Women's University will present "Characteristics and Policy Implications of the U.S. Employment Safety Net System."
The comprehensive discussion session will be chaired by Song Wonkeun, President of Hyundai Research Institute. Panelists will include Professor Kim Daeil of Seoul National University, Associate Research Fellow Jung Suhwan of the Korea Development Institute (KDI), Lee Sangin, Director of Employment Policy at the Ministry of Employment and Labor, and Yoo Jinseong, Senior Research Fellow at the Korea Economic Research Institute. They will engage in in-depth discussions on the topic.
