Despite the rain, the calm and orderly volunteer activity, which minimized inconvenience to citizens, drew public attention.
Park stated, "Rather than holding a loud campaign kick-off event that disrupts the peaceful morning commute of citizens, I wanted to begin my campaign by quietly working alongside the community." He added, "I will focus on establishing an election culture where candidates are evaluated on their vision and policies for the future of the region, rather than competing in ways that inconvenience citizens."
Going forward, Park plans to continue his campaign in a way that minimizes inconvenience to citizens. He intends to avoid excessive noise from campaign vehicles and large-scale events, focusing instead on grassroots engagement and policy-centered promotion.
In addition, he plans to carefully manage the operation of campaign vehicles to minimize traffic congestion and inconvenience for pedestrians.
Park also presented his vision to lay the foundation for Dongducheon’s next 100 years, building on the accomplishments made during his 8th term as a popularly elected mayor. His plans include: the early groundbreaking of the GTX-C line extension to Dongducheon; establishing an economy centered on K-defense and advanced industries; attracting the relocation of an international speed skating rink and the Gwacheon Racecourse; introducing a special college admissions track for students in border areas; opening the annex building of Jaesaeng Hospital; securing the return of U.S. military base sites and compensation for related damages; and expanding the development of Soyo Mountain and fostering the forest wellness tourism industry—all aimed at transforming Dongducheon into the new central city of northern Gyeonggi Province.
