Naval Logistics Command: The Special Journey of 46 Married Employee Couples Who Understand Each Other's Duties
Partners at Work and in Life
At the Naval Logistics Command (hereinafter referred to as "the Command"), there are 46 married civilian employee couples who, in celebration of Married Couples Day, perform logistics support duties in their respective roles while also building their families together.
These couples deeply understand each other's responsibilities and daily routines, supporting both the well-being of their families and the Command's sustained logistics readiness.
The Command serves as the vital artery of logistics support for the Navy, ensuring that essential resources are supplied in a timely manner for all required missions, from research and development of ship technologies to the identification, procurement, supply, transport, and operational support of logistics materials.

Within this organization, married employee couples often understand each other's work even before it is explained. When one partner has a busy period, the other naturally steps in to care for the family, maintaining a healthy balance between work and home life.
One example is the couple of Jo Eunjung (Grade 6) and Jo Jinyoung (Grade 7), both principal administrators at the Standard Measurement Laboratory of the Maintenance Department. Sharing the same technical specialty, they have a deeper understanding of each other's work than anyone else.
Jo Eunjung is responsible for calibrating and repairing electronic measuring instruments in the time-frequency and direct current fields, while Jo Jinyoung handles the calibration and repair of mechanical pressure gauges.
They consider the ability to share technical advice and concerns within the same organization a major strength, and they utilize flexible work schedules to share morning and afternoon childcare, allowing them to manage both work and family together.
Another couple, Park Jaeyeon (Grade 6), principal administrator at the Guided Weapon Factory of the Ammunition Depot, and Jang Younggi (Grade 6), principal administrator at the Support Factory of the Maintenance Department, work in different fields but pursue a common goal as a couple.
Park is responsible for the maintenance of Haeseong and Haeryong guided missiles, while Jang is in charge of cast part modeling. They say that their sense of belonging within the same organization deepens their respect and empathy for each other's roles.
This demonstrates how the interconnection of different functions ultimately contributes to overall combat capability, illustrating how organic links in logistics support translate directly into operational readiness on the ground.
The couple of Jeong Namho (Grade 6), principal administrator at the Support Factory of the Maintenance Department, and Lee Yunso (Grade 6), principal administrator at the Material Maintenance Support Company of the Supply Depot, exemplify how balancing work and family can lead to the stable execution of organizational duties.
Jeong is responsible for forging and heat treatment, while Lee leads the garment laundry team. They cite as a strength their innate understanding of the unique work environment of military organizations—such as combat leave, duty shifts, and garrison defense training—without needing explanation. Their lives demonstrate the shared strength that families within the Command possess, even when facing different jobs and environments.
Recognizing that they are family, colleagues, comrades, and at the same time the closest support for one another as spouses, has made their lives even stronger.
Above all, the greatest pride shared by married civilian employees at the Command is the direct connection between their contributions and the maintenance of the Navy's combat power.
