Support declarations for Kang Ki-yoon, the People Power Party candidate for Changwon mayor, are continuously being made by people from all walks of life, including young frontline workers, culture and arts professionals, and local residents.
On May 20, Lee Kang-woo, a representative of young frontline workers in the Changwon area, along with 83 others, gathered at the Gyeongip Sarang Park in Seongsan-gu and pledged their full support for Kang Ki-yoon, aiming for the future of Changwon and the revitalization of the local economy.

On this day, Lee, the representative of young frontline workers, stated during the support declaration, "Those participating in today's declaration are frontline workers who finished their overnight shift work as recently as this morning," adding, "Despite being exhausted from working through the night, they voluntarily gathered early in the morning for one reason only: the urgent need to revitalize Changwon's economy."
They explained, "Some of the participants are union members, but we have made a pragmatic choice that transcends existing ideological frames and political divides—our priority is to create a Changwon where jobs are secure and young people can thrive."
They continued, "We are confident that Kang Ki-yoon is the right person to promote coexistence between large and small businesses, revitalize industrial complexes by easing regulations, and improve the treatment of young workers. The young people who powered Changwon's economic engine through sleepless nights now seek to usher in a new dawn for the city through Kang Ki-yoon." They requested, "We ask Kang Ki-yoon to listen to the voices of young frontline workers and to fully deliver on his promised economic pledges."

Pure culture and arts professionals also joined the support declaration. On the same day, more than 30 professionals working in various genres such as literature, fine arts, music, dance, and theater gathered at Kang Ki-yoon's campaign office, stating, "We actively support Kang Ki-yoon for the advancement of Changwon's culture and arts and for an enriched life for its citizens."
In their declaration, they pointed out, "Many culture and arts professionals have endured difficulties due to poor creative environments and insufficient support systems," and added, "Now, Changwon needs strong leadership that goes beyond formal support, deeply understands the realities of artists, and can drive meaningful change."
The pure arts professionals of Changwon expressed their strong support for Kang Ki-yoon, highlighting that he is the right person to protect artists' rights and innovate the creative environment by listening to voices on the ground; that he has a vision to build Changwon's unique culture and arts infrastructure and elevate its distinctive cultural assets into a global brand; and that he is a leader who can transform Changwon from an industrial city into a 'city of refined culture and arts' through communication and convergence.
They particularly emphasized, "We trust Kang Ki-yoon's policy capabilities and his deep affection for his hometown of Changwon," and stated, "We believe the new Changwon that Kang will create will provide a foundation of opportunities for artists and deliver a high level of cultural abundance to its citizens."
Support from local residents also continued. On May 19, 102 residents from various backgrounds living in Daesan-myeon, Changwon, officially declared their support for Kang in front of the Daesan-myeon community center.
Representative Park Jun-young stated, "Although we made different choices during the primary process, we have decided to unite for the future of Daesan-myeon," adding, "We have agreed that Kang Ki-yoon is the right person to lead the development of both Changwon and Daesan-myeon."
He also said, "The voluntary gathering of Daesan-myeon residents is a significant act symbolizing the unity of all of Changwon," and requested, "We hope Kang Ki-yoon will listen attentively to the voices of Daesan-myeon residents."
Earlier, on May 18, 1,328 residents affiliated with the Jinhae Sojukdo Normalization Promotion Committee expressed their support for Kang, on the condition that the Sojukdo jjimjilbang (sauna) not be closed.

In response, Kang Ki-yoon said, "I bow my head in gratitude for the support from young frontline workers, culture and arts professionals, and local residents," and promised, "I will repay your support by making Changwon a business-friendly city, the number one city in Korea overflowing with jobs, and a city where tomorrow is even more promising than today."
