A total of 46 senior centers in 22 cities and counties across Jeonnam participated, with 2,310 elderly individuals directly collecting expired medicines as part of their daily lives and contributing to environmental protection efforts.
The Center delivered 9,000 patches as health products to express its appreciation to the elderly who actively participated in the project.
Shin Mikyung, Director of Jeonnam Social Service Center, stated, "The small actions of the elderly are driving changes in the local environmental culture," and added, "We will continue to promote various participatory projects so that senior centers can serve as hubs for environmental protection and resource circulation."
Lee Giyeol, Director of the Senior Center Support Center, said, "Thanks to the voluntary participation of the elderly, we were able to widely raise awareness in the community about the importance of proper disposal of expired medicines," and added, "We will expand the project so that more senior centers can participate."
