Lotte Mart and Lotte Super Expand Low-Sugar, High-Protein Misugaru Lineup
Sales of Low-Sugar and Zero-Sugar Products Continue to Grow Amidst Expanding Health-Focused Food Culture
Launch of High-Protein Misugaru and Whole Grain Meal Replacements... 50% Discount When Purchasing Two
Lotte Mart and Lotte Super are expanding their product lineup by introducing low-sugar and high-protein trends to Misugaru, a traditional summer snack.
As interest in health management grows, demand for low-sugar, sugar-free, and zero-sugar products is also increasing. According to Lotte Mart and Lotte Super, sales of these product categories have grown by more than 20% for four consecutive years, and sales from January to April this year increased by 27% compared to the same period last year. The number of products handled also grew by 41% during the same period.
Following the launch of “Low Sugar Balance The: Five-Colored Brown Rice” earlier this year, Lotte Mart and Lotte Super also released “Delicious Iced Misugaru Original·Black” in May, which sold 10,000 units within just two weeks of its release. These products are characterized by reduced sugar content and an emphasis on the natural taste of grains.
In line with this trend, on May 18, they launched three new products: “Protein Black Misugaru,” “Protein Low Sugar Whole Grain Meal Replacement,” and “Icheon Rice High-Protein Misugaru Made with Korean Rice.” Among these, “Protein Black Misugaru” contains less than 1g of sugar and 16g of plant-based protein per 40g serving.
Lotte Mart and Lotte Super will offer a 50% discount when customers purchase two promotional Misugaru or meal replacement products until June 2, 2026, with cross-purchases also eligible for the discount.
