Gyeonggi Province Receives Certificate of Appreciation from USFK for Contributions to Strengthening Korea-U.S. Alliance
Gyeonggi Province has received an official certificate of appreciation from the United States Forces Korea (USFK) Headquarters in recognition of its efforts to promote friendship with the USFK and strengthen the South Korea-U.S. alliance.
On the 19th, Gyeonggi Province received a certificate of appreciation from David R. Iverson, the commander of the 7th Air Force and deputy commander of U.S. Forces Korea, on behalf of the commanders of the United Nations Command, Combined Forces Command, and U.S. Forces Korea at the 23rd Good Neighbor Awards Ceremony held at the Morning Calm Center within Camp Humphreys (USAG Humphreys) in Pyeongtaek. View original imageOn May 19 at 1 p.m., Gyeonggi Province announced that, during the 23rd Good Neighbor Awards Ceremony held at the Morning Calm Center within USAG Humphreys in Pyeongtaek, David R. Iverson, Commander of the 7th Air Force and Deputy Commander of United States Forces Korea, presented the certificate of appreciation to the Gyeonggi Province Korea-U.S. Cooperation Team on behalf of the commanders of the United Nations Command, Combined Forces Command, and United States Forces Korea.
The United States Forces Korea Headquarters explained that the certificate of appreciation was awarded because Gyeonggi Province’s Korea-U.S. cooperation initiatives have helped USFK service members and their families gain a deeper understanding of Korean culture and contributed to strengthening the alliance between the two countries.
Gyeonggi Province operates programs such as the “USFK Security and Korean Cultural Experience” and the “USFK Korean Language, History, and Culture Education” courses, which help U.S. service members adapt to life in Korea.
In addition, the province actively participates in various key events hosted by the USFK and provides administrative support, thereby maintaining a cooperative relationship.
