The Seohae Regional Coast Guard Headquarters and the Gwangju Regional Meteorological Office conducted a joint workshop on board an actual patrol vessel to strengthen their collaborative capabilities for preventing maritime accidents and responding to hazardous weather conditions.
The Seohae Coast Guard Headquarters announced that it held a "Marine Weather Joint Workshop" for two days and one night from May 18 to 19 on the Seohae Special Maritime Security Zone patrol vessel No. 1509.
Seven participants attended the workshop, including officials from the Seohae Coast Guard Headquarters Integrated Situation Room and the Gwangju Meteorological Office.
Participants boarded the vessel to conduct practical training in navigation and communications duties, inspect onboard meteorological observation equipment and weather buoys, and receive marine weather education.
The Seohae Regional Coast Guard vessel 1509 is hosting an onboard marine weather workshop conducted by the Seohae Coast Guard and the Gwangju Meteorological Administration.

They also discussed inter-agency cooperation initiatives such as services for providing hazardous marine weather information and guidelines for assessing hazardous weather conditions in the field.
In particular, this training, conducted in the real operating environment of a patrol vessel, focused on enhancing field response capabilities and strengthening the collaboration system between agencies.
