On May 19, Hyundai Motor Group signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for the "Korean Language Education Support Program for Foreign Workers in the Manufacturing Sector" at the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, Seoul, in partnership with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Sejong Institute Foundation, and the K-Mobility Bridge Foundation.

The signing ceremony was attended by Sung Kim, President of Strategic Planning at Hyundai Motor Group; Choi Hwi-young, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism; Jeon Woo-yong, Chairman of the Sejong Institute Foundation; Ahn Junggu, Chairman of the K-Mobility Bridge Foundation; and other key stakeholders.

The agreement outlines cooperation in various areas over the next three years, through 2028, including: the development of Korean language textbooks and learning applications tailored for manufacturing; the provision of integrated on- and offline education focused on work and safety; and the establishment of a system for evaluating learning outcomes.

Specifically, Hyundai Motor Group will design the support program model and cover operational costs, while also contributing to the dissemination and application of Korean language education content for global manufacturing workers in the future.

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism will provide policy support to establish a Korean language education support system and promote best practices, while the Sejong Institute Foundation, a public institution under the ministry, will oversee the development of educational content, curriculum design, and overall program management.

The K-Mobility Bridge Foundation, established to promote the automotive parts industry, will be responsible for identifying and encouraging the participation of partner companies, as well as managing on-site training.

The Korean language education support program will target approximately 1,300 foreign workers at 130 Hyundai Motor Group partner companies.

The program will begin with a pilot phase for select partner companies in 2026, followed by program enhancements and expansion to domestic and overseas sites after 2027.

Hyundai Motor Group expects that this business agreement will help foreign workers in manufacturing improve their communication skills, leading to increased work efficiency, accident prevention, and improved adaptation to local communities and overall quality of life.

Sung Kim, President of Strategic Planning at Hyundai Motor Group, stated, "As the role of foreign workers in manufacturing sites continues to grow, the importance of Korean language education is also increasing. We hope this agreement will mark the beginning of positive changes in the industrial field through Korean language education support."

Meanwhile, Hyundai Motor Group is supporting the overall production of the EBS program "Global Dad Expedition Season 2" to motivate and raise awareness among foreign workers employed by its partner companies.

"Global Dad Expedition," which launched its second season in March 2026, is a human-interest program that highlights the lives of foreign workers in Korea and follows the journeys of their children visiting Korea to reunite with their fathers.
