"Experience as a Guide"... Busan Veterans Affairs Office Holds Veterans Senior-Junior Matching Workshop
Sharing Success Stories of Employment in Public Institutions
Supporting Tailored Career Planning
Job Search and Civilian Adaptation Counseling
Helping Discharged Service Members Reintegrate into Society
The Busan Regional Veterans Affairs Office (Director: Lee Nam-il) announced on May 19, 2026, that its Veterans Support Center held a "Veterans Senior-Junior Matching Workshop" to share real-world experiences of veterans who have successfully found employment and to support the smooth reintegration of current and soon-to-be-discharged service members into society.
Veterans who have achieved successful employment in various fields, including public institutions, participated in the workshop and gave presentations focused on their actual job search experiences and work cases.
Participants shared examples of entering public institutions and government positions, discussed preparation processes for different job functions, and exchanged employment strategies, thereby supporting tailored career planning for discharged service members.
In particular, after the case presentations, there was a dedicated time for open conversation and counseling, during which participants exchanged practical advice on the job search process, adapting to civilian life, and challenges encountered during career transitions.
A representative from the Busan Regional Veterans Affairs Office stated, "The sharing of experiences by senior veterans is greatly helping junior veterans in exploring career paths and settling into society," adding, "We will continue to operate various support programs to ensure the stable reintegration of veterans into civilian life."
The Veterans Support Centers, currently operating at ten locations nationwide, provide a range of employment and entrepreneurship support services for veterans who have served for at least five years as mid- to long-term enlisted personnel, including one-on-one career counseling, job information, educational training subsidies, and transition support payments.
