Uisikju Company Jointly Develops "Towel Deployment Automation Equipment"
Partnering with Technics Engineering
Uisikju Company announced on the 19th that it has jointly developed a towel deployment automation facility (Towel Auto Stacker) with Technics Engineering, a company specializing in automation, and is set to target the domestic and international laundry markets.
The towel deployment automation equipment is a system in which, once a worker places washed towels onto the loading zone, a robot automatically unfolds, aligns, and stacks them. Based on Uisikju Company's accumulated laundry process expertise and physical data related to garments and towels, Technics has advanced the mechanical design and robotics control technology.
This equipment was developed to address the structural issues of the global hotel laundry industry, which is struggling with a shortage of skilled labor and rising labor costs. Uisikju Company’s hotel and business laundry service, Laundrygo Hotel & Business, applied this system to its Paju smart factory, automating previously manual processes and achieving the capacity to process over 800 towels per hour—boosting productivity by approximately 2.5 times compared to previous levels.
The two companies plan to further collaborate on advancing interfacing technologies for folding machines, including the implementation of up to four different types of automated folding functions. Based on these efforts, they aim to strengthen customized services for clients such as hotels, fitness centers, and resorts, and proactively respond to demand not only in Korea but also in overseas markets including the United States and Japan.
