Xperix Achieves 6.7 Billion Won in Q1 Revenue... Expands AI Business and Turns to Net Profit
AI-based digital identity recognition specialist Xperix achieved consolidated revenue growth and a turnaround to net profit in the first quarter of this year. The company explained that this was due to the advancement of its AI business structure and improved performance of its affiliates.
Xperix announced on the 18th that its consolidated revenue for the first quarter reached 6.7 billion won, up 34.7% from the same period last year. Consolidated net income for the same period reached 2.92 billion won, representing an improvement of over 5 billion won year-on-year and marking a return to profitability. Total comprehensive income also recorded a surplus of 2.8 billion won.
Equity-method gains for the first quarter turned positive, reaching 3.52 billion won. In particular, the affiliate Intellectual Discovery (ID) contributed to the increase in equity-method profit by recording first-quarter revenue of 23.8 billion won, operating profit of 15.5 billion won, and net income of 14.8 billion won.
The company also noted that the burden of stock option expenses, which amounted to approximately 3.5 billion won over the past two years for all employees, ended in the first quarter of this year. As a result, the company expects profitability to improve in earnest from the second quarter onward.
Xperix is also considering additional acquisition of ID shares this year. The company plans to include ID as a consolidated subsidiary by increasing its equity stake. If ID is included in the scope of consolidation, the company expects the addition of IP licensing and monetization businesses to its existing digital identity recognition business to have a positive impact on key performance indicators such as consolidated revenue and operating profit.
Although operating losses had previously occurred due to R&D investment in new businesses such as advanced materials and healthcare, the company expects that once ID's profits are reflected in the consolidated results, the performance of new businesses will begin to contribute meaningfully to operating profit.
The company is also strengthening its investments to expand its AI business. Recently, Xperix has been pursuing a merger with its AI solutions subsidiary, Ainute, and aims to accelerate the internalization of new business and strengthen its AI technology competitiveness through this move.
In particular, collaboration with FuriosaAI is expanding. The two companies are jointly developing an "AI All-in-One Appliance" that combines Xperix's AI software and agentic AI-based automation services with FuriosaAI's high-performance NPU "RNGD (Renegade)" server.
Xperix plans to actively respond to demand for AX (AI transformation) in the public sector, immigration, law enforcement, and administration, leveraging its accumulated expertise in identity recognition and AI technology in public and security domains. After the merger with Ainute, the company plans to expand its AI division as the core of its business, further stretching into AI infrastructure and data center sectors.
A company representative stated, "The year 2026 marks the period when the shift to an AI-centered business structure is in full swing, alongside the stable growth of our existing biometric business. Through the merger with Ainute and expansion of group-level synergies, we plan to simultaneously strengthen both growth and profitability, while accelerating the acquisition of future growth engines focused on AI and digital security."
