Yoon Byungtae, the Democratic Party candidate for Mayor of Naju, unveiled the "10 Major Strategies for the Great Leap Forward of Naju," presenting a vision for the region’s future growth, targeting the era of Jeonnam-Gwangju integration.
On May 18, Yoon announced that he had introduced the core strategies for the 9th local government at the launch ceremony of the "Naju One Team Victory Election Countermeasures Committee," held at the Democratic Party Naju Regional Committee headquarters on May 15.
The launch event was attended by approximately 100 participants, including National Assemblyman Shin Jung-hoon, who served as the general standing chairman, the election committee chairpersons, candidates for provincial and city council, and supporters, all vowing to secure victory in the local election.

Yoon emphasized, "This election is important for establishing a capable local government that will strongly support the success of the Lee Jae-myung administration," and added, "Through an overwhelming victory, I will open the future of Naju as the central city in the Jeonnam-Gwangju integrated era."
He then presented the "10 Major Strategies for the Great Leap Forward of Naju" to realize Naju’s vision as the core of the integrated Jeonnam-Gwangju era.
The "10 Major Strategies for the Great Leap Forward of Naju" announced by Yoon include: ▲ Korea’s Special Energy City ▲ Economic hub attracting institutions and talent ▲ Garden tourism city led by the Yeongsan River ▲ City of 2,000 years of historical culture ▲ Future-oriented agriculture and rural areas ▲ Revitalization of the local economy ▲ Happy city ideal for raising children ▲ Education and youth vitality city ▲ Comprehensive welfare city ▲ Central city for metropolitan transportation.
In particular, for the energy sector, he pledged to accelerate the completion of the artificial sun research facility and establish a global nuclear fusion research complex, as well as attract the Jeonnam-Gwangju Energy Corporation and the World Energy Congress. He also proposed relocating the second wave of public institutions, including the National Agricultural Cooperative Federation, to the innovative city, and attracting the special city and council offices for the integrated Jeonnam-Gwangju era, to nurture Bitgaram Innovation City as a core hub.
In tourism and culture, he outlined plans to lay the foundation for a garden tourism city by attracting the Yeongsan River National Garden and National Estuary Center, and creating an eco-bridge connecting Naju Station and the Yeongsan River Garden.
He also presented strategies for revitalizing the original downtown area, combining history, culture, and tourism, through "designating the ancient Mahan capital and laying the groundwork for world heritage registration," "restoring the Naju Mokgwana," "developing the Naju Station area," and "establishing a large-scale convention center."
For agriculture, he stated that he would boost rural competitiveness by creating 200 "Naju-style Solar Income Villages," providing management stabilization funds for key agricultural products, constructing an Agricultural Cooperative Center, and activating the Food Upcycling Research Support Center.
Additionally, he announced sector-specific pledges, including providing 200,000 won per citizen as livelihood recovery support, attracting a university hospital-affiliated maternity and children's hospital, establishing a gifted school linked with Korea Institute of Energy Technology, implementing a 100-day youth employment guarantee system, offering free city bus rides for seniors, and promoting the inclusion of the Gwangju-Naju metropolitan railway in the national plan and conducting a preliminary feasibility study.

Yoon declared, "I will usher in a new era of grand integration for Naju, where all 20 towns and neighborhoods grow evenly by leveraging their unique strengths," and pledged, "I will take the lead to ensure victory for all Democratic Party candidates."
