First Weekend After Candidate Registration: Jung Wonoh and Oh Sehoon Attend Seoul Citizens Sports Festival Together
Jung Promises to Establish "15-Minute Sports Zone"
Oh Stresses the Need for a "Wake-Up Call" on Flawed Rental Policies
On the first weekend after completing the registration of candidates for the 9th nationwide local elections on June 3, Won-O Jeong, the Democratic Party candidate for Seoul mayor, and Se-Hoon Oh, the People Power Party candidate for Seoul mayor, both attended the opening ceremony of the Seoul Citizens Sports Festival held in Jamsil, Seoul at 10 a.m. on the 16th.
In line with this, candidate Jeong announced through his social networking service (SNS), "I will ensure that every citizen can exercise close to home and enjoy healthy leisure time with their neighbors," pledging to establish a "15-minute sports living zone."

Exercise prevents disease, reduces social isolation, and adds vitality to life—it is the most community-centered form of welfare."
He also unveiled plans to transform the Nanji and Jungnang Water Reclamation Centers into large-scale civic sports spaces equipped with baseball fields, soccer fields, and park golf courses, and to invigorate local community-based amateur sports leagues. Additionally, he promised to expand public access to sports facilities at public institutions, and to increase daily sports spaces by utilizing walking trails and riversides.
He proposed assigning retired athletes and community sports instructors as "local sports doctors," providing customized sports programs for marginalized groups such as young children and women, expanding the sports voucher program for people with disabilities, and supporting sports scholarships and professional lessons for children from low-income and multicultural families. He also proposed introducing the "Seoul Wellness Points" system, where citizens can accumulate points through activities such as walking and use them for cultural experiences.
On the same day, candidate Oh visited a studio apartment in Nowon-gu, Seoul, together with Lee Jun-seok, leader of the Reform New Party, and Kim Jeong-cheol, the Reform New Party's candidate for Seoul mayor, to hold a discussion with university students and young people about housing, addressing real estate issues as a central topic.
Candidate Oh stated, "Jeonse (long-term deposit rental) properties are drying up and deposit amounts are rising, while monthly rents are soaring. Today, I visited the monthly-rented room of a young person," adding, "If current government policies continue, it will be nearly impossible to resolve the shortage of jeonse listings and the surge in monthly rents."
He continued, "As long as President Lee Jaemyung insists on maintaining the current policies, those seeking jeonse and monthly rental properties will only experience years of hardship. I hope the local elections will serve as an opportunity to sound the alarm on these misguided rental policies."
