Jipyong Publishes "Franchise Legal Handbook" Covering China and Four Southeast Asian Countries
Overseas Franchise Operations Require Comprehensive Legal Review
Law Firm Jipyong announced on the 30th that it has published the "Franchise Legal Handbook," which summarizes the franchise legal systems of major Asian countries, including China, Vietnam, Indonesia, and Thailand.
As the overseas expansion of domestic franchise companies in sectors such as food service, education, and retail has accelerated recently, Southeast Asia and China—markets with high growth potential—are considered key strategic regions. However, unlike the simple export of goods, overseas franchise operations require complex legal review, including intellectual property (IP) licensing, technology transfer, and the establishment of local operational systems.
Jipyong explained that it planned this handbook to help Korean companies minimize trial and error that may arise from not fully understanding local regulations and business practices.
