View original imageThe Yeongdeungpo Youth Architecture School, which opened in 2018 as the first youth technical education facility among Seoul's 25 districts, has become a key hub for youth technical training in the district, producing more than 400 graduates to date. The school is recognized for its high certification and employment rates, thanks to experienced instructors with extensive field backgrounds and a practical, hands-on curriculum.
This year, the programs have been enhanced to reflect both the preferences of young people and on-site industry needs. The Painting Technician course, newly introduced last year, will be offered three times this year, while the Wallpapering Technician and Tiling Technician courses will also be held regularly. Notably, the Wallpapering Technician course in the second half of the year will include 'film installation' training to further strengthen practical skills.
In addition, the school will provide a 'Practical Training for Interior Construction Sites' course, covering everything from basic interior theory to blueprint analysis and overall construction methods. Mock exams for certifications and additional hands-on practice sessions will be available, and post-training support will help participants transition directly into the field.
Beyond the regular programs, the school also offers a 'Home Repair Volunteer Activity' in which trainees participate directly in improving the living environments of vulnerable households. This initiative aims to provide both practical experience and opportunities for social contribution. One-day special lectures are also being held, where participants can learn simple repair techniques for everyday use.
Detailed schedules can be found on the official website. Recruitment for the Architecture Painting Technician course is currently underway, with 10 trainees being selected for each of the first and second sessions—a total of 20 participants in all. The application deadline for the first session is May 25, and for the second session, it is May 31.
