Netanyahu: "Iran Weaker Than Ever"... Signals Continued Military Pressure
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has stated his intention to continue military responses targeting Iran and pro-Iranian forces.
According to the Times of Israel and other sources on May 14 (local time), Prime Minister Netanyahu attended the Jerusalem Day ceremony and declared, "Iran's terrorist regime is weaker than ever, and Israel is stronger than ever." He continued, "We will resolutely continue to fight against all threats from radical Islam."
He reiterated his previous claim that if Israel had not conducted military operations targeting Iran's nuclear and ballistic missile programs, Iran would already possess nuclear weapons. Israel carried out a large-scale airstrike on Iran's nuclear facilities and missile programs in June last year. Since then, Israel has maintained military pressure against Iran and pro-Iranian forces.
Prime Minister Netanyahu also asserted, "Without exception, our enemies seek to destroy all of us and uproot our heritage from Jerusalem, the heart of the Jewish people." He added, "Only Jerusalem under Israeli rule guarantees true freedom for people of all religions and nationalities," making clear that Israel would not relinquish its sovereignty over the city.
He also highlighted recent military achievements against Iran, Hamas, and Hezbollah. Prime Minister Netanyahu noted that Israel has established buffer zones in Gaza, Lebanon, and Syria, and that its alliance with the U.S. Trump administration has been strengthened, assessing that "the dynamics in the Middle East have shifted." He further stated his intention to expand relations with moderate forces in the region seeking to cooperate with Israel.
