They also proposed utilizing the current substation building as a city promotional center. In particular, they emphasized that since the existing building near Jeongeup Station sees high foot traffic from tourists and visitors, it would be highly valuable as a space to introduce the region's history, culture, and tourism information.
Jeongeup City expects that once the promotional center is established, it will serve multiple functions, including ▲providing Jeongeup tourism information ▲introducing local cultural content ▲and serving as a space for rest and communication for both citizens and tourists.
Recently, there has been a nationwide increase in cases where local governments are combining the relocation of outdated public offices with the reuse of idle spaces, transforming them into city promotional centers or complex cultural spaces. Many municipalities are also working on converting public facilities near railway stations into tourism hubs to increase visitor stay duration in their regions.
