This training program was introduced in response to the growing demand for tourist guides in special languages, as the number of tourists visiting Korea from Europe and Southeast Asia continues to increase. The target languages include Vietnamese, German, French, Spanish, Russian, Thai, Malay, Italian, and Arabic—a total of nine languages.

Since last year, the organization has been offering related training programs to multicultural marriage immigrants and naturalized citizens from the relevant countries. This year's program will run for approximately three months and will accommodate a total of 60 participants—40 from the Seoul metropolitan area and 20 from Daegu.

A special lecture has also been prepared to motivate trainees to obtain the certification. Fabian, a broadcaster who obtained the tourist interpreter-guide certification last year, served as a guest lecturer to share his experience and know-how regarding the certification process.

Moon Sangho, Head of Tourism Education at the Korea Tourism Organization, stated, "We will actively support individuals with multicultural backgrounds so that they can serve as bridges at special language tourism sites," adding, "We will continue to expand practical, work-focused training programs to enhance the quality of tourism services."

In addition, the organization is operating various practical training programs for tourism professionals, including on-site competency training for tourist interpreter-guides and AI·DX tourism job training.
