"Expanding Offshore Wind Power Cooperation"... Gwangju Bank Signs MOU with Jeonbuk Bank and KEPCO
Strengthening Financial Support for Offshore Wind Power Projects in the Renewable Energy Sector
Gwangju Bank has established a proactive partnership system with local banks and regional public institutions for the offshore wind power project in Shinan, Jeollanam-do.
On May 7, Gwangju Bank announced that, together with Jeonbuk Bank, it had signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO) for "the establishment of a cooperative network for mutual regional development."
This agreement aims to strengthen the foundation for mutual prosperity in the region by building a proactive partnership system between local banks and regional public institutions in connection with the offshore wind power projects in Shinan, Jeollanam-do, and the southwestern region of Jeollabuk-do.
With this agreement, Gwangju Bank plans to expand financial support for offshore wind power projects in the renewable energy sector, which is a national core business in the region. The bank also intends to further strengthen mutual cooperation for regional development, based on its partnership with KEPCO, a leading regional public institution.
Having established a financial network rooted in the region for the past 58 years, Gwangju Bank expects not only to provide stable financial support during the implementation of the offshore wind power project through this agreement, but also to make a greater contribution to revitalizing the local economy.
Jung Ilseon, President of Gwangju Bank, stated, "Through the offshore wind power project, which is a key growth engine for the region's future, this agreement provides a meaningful opportunity for collaboration between Gwangju Bank and KEPCO." He added, "With the launch of the integrated Jeonnam-Gwangju metropolitan city approaching, I hope both institutions will work even more closely together to make a tangible contribution to the region's economic development."
