On the morning of May 7, Candidate Kim held a press conference at the Uijeongbu City Hall press room, officially announcing the "Uijeongbu Transportation Innovation 4 Major Strategies and 22 Tasks," which involves a comprehensive reform of railroads, buses, roads, and daily transportation.
On this day, Candidate Kim sharply diagnosed the current transportation situation in Uijeongbu. He pointed out, "Currently, 200,000 Uijeongbu citizens use public transportation every day, but 28% of them still commute to places like Seoul, leaving the city in a 'bedtown' structure. During the development of new towns, metropolitan transportation networks were not established in a timely manner, so citizens have fully endured traffic congestion."
He added, "Uijeongbu has long remained a bedtown, and even during the development of new towns such as Minrak and Gosan, the establishment of metropolitan transportation networks was insufficient. As a result, citizens have had to endure long commuting hours and traffic congestion, while the lack of transportation infrastructure had to be belatedly supplemented with local government finances, leading to a vicious cycle."

In the daily transportation sector, he highlighted achievements such as reorganizing bus routes and introducing public buses, operating student-only school buses, opening the CRC connecting road, improving the traffic signal system, expanding public parking lots, and sharing private parking lots with the public.
Candidate Kim Donggeun emphasized, "If the past four years were spent laying the foundation for solving Uijeongbu's transportation problems, the next four years will be the time to complete transportation innovation that citizens can truly feel."
He presented the transportation vision for the 9th popularly elected administration as "Uijeongbu, the transportation hub of northern Gyeonggi Province," and announced four major strategies and 22 core tasks encompassing rail, bus, road, and daily transportation.
